Why Fan Voice

“Why would you
punt there?”

Every fan has yelled it at the TV. Fan Voice is where that call finally counts, and where being right finally gets you something.

A 3-minute read, in plain English

01The moment

Your best calls disappear.

It’s fourth and two. Your team is down four. The coach sends out the punt team, and you’re off the couch: go for it!

Then the moment’s gone. Your take lives in a group chat for a day, or in a thread nobody reads twice. If you were right, you can’t prove it. If the coach was wrong, nobody’s keeping score.

02What you do

Two taps a game. That’s it.

Before kickoff, one reminder. Fan Voice asks how you’d handle today’s big moments: go or punt, kick or go for two. One tap each. Your calls lock at kickoff with a time-stamp, so nobody can say you called it after the fact.

After the game, one alert with the verdicts. Was punting the right call? Tap yours and see how every fanbase saw it.

At most two alerts a game. Everything else waits in the app.

03Where your call goes

Into the fans’ verdict. On the record.

Your call joins every other fan’s, split three ways: your team’s fans, the other team’s fans and neutral fans. Once enough verified fans have weighed in, the verdict is published with the numbers behind it.

Anyone can see it: teams, coaches, players, broadcasters, and the guy in your group chat who said punt.

We can’t promise a coach will change his mind. We can promise the fans’ verdict is counted, checked and public. Today a coach only hears the boos. Now there’s a scoreboard.

04What you get

Status you earn by being right.

Think Reddit karma, except you can’t farm it. Showing up earns Reps, capped each day. Your Football IQ only climbs when you’re right, and drops when you’re not. Every call is measured against the win-probability numbers in the moment, not on how the play turned out. Right call, bad result? Still right.

Then it travels with you: time-stamped proof when you call it, head-to-head leagues with your friends, and a weekly ranking of the smartest fanbase.

05Why it works

The psychology, said out loud.

These are the reasons fans keep coming back. We’d rather tell you than hide them.

  1. 1

Being right is better on the record.

Memory is generous. A time-stamp isn’t. Proof is what ends the argument.

  2. 2

    A voice beats a void.

Yelling at a TV changes nothing. A counted, published verdict is something.

  3. 3

    Status you can see.

A number that climbs, a rank you earn, a badge you keep. Earned, never bought.

  4. 4

    Us versus them.

How did their fans call it? You’ll want to know. So will they.

  5. 5

    Small and steady.

Two taps a game. A streak that counts weeks, not days, and never breaks on your bye.

06What we won’t do

The lines we don’t cross.

  • No betting.

No money, no prizes, nothing to buy. You play for being right.

  • No hindsight.

Your calls lock before kickoff, time-stamped. Nobody gets credit for hindsight.

  • No stacked votes.

Every call is checked before it counts, and the check never sees your answer. We publish what we threw out.

  • No farming.

Reps are capped each day. Only right calls raise your IQ.

  • Nothing personal.

We ask whether a decision was right. Never whether someone is any good.

  • No spam.

At most two alerts a game. Spoiler-safe if you’re watching later.
